His main role is working with medium to large enterprises advising them on surplus asset management or restructuring programmes or clients requiring advice on complete plant closures. He spent the first 6 years of his career working in the valuations department providing formal valuations for banks, finance companies, insolvency practitioners or manufacturing businesses. Peter has worked across many different manufacturing sectors, ranging from the high technology sector, automotive, iron and steel, printing, plastics, to the Food and beverage sector, and has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on high value restructuring programmes across multiple countries, including sales for some of the highest profile programmes. This work has helped Peter establish an in-site into the complex decision making processes a large business must go through in managing their surplus asset sales. He has focused on running international dispositions including projects located in South Africa, USA, Japan, Korea, Canada, Egypt, Russia, throughout Central and Western Europe, and Scandinavia. This has allowed Peter to develop a solid commercial experience operating on the international used equipment market. Peter has a keen interest in the ecommerce aspects of the business and was involved in the creation of the original company website, online auction software and marketplace tools which drives the business today. This also involves actively working alongside the marketing department and applying the latest marketing methodologies to projects. Prior to joining GoIndustry DoveBid, Peter graduated in Materials Engineering from Birmingham University, and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and therefore takes an active role in assisting our clients with providing valuation advice covering many sectors of industry.
